Early July we ‘hung around’ the Kapiti area attending multiple dentist appointments (ouch…it hurt our wallets more than our teeth!!) but we managed to head over the Rimutaka Hill for a couple of weeks at the end of the month to visit familiar haunts in the Wairarapa area.
Stopped in Ngawi for a few days – right on the foreshore with seals arriving every morning to sun themselves on the rocks.
Retraced our steps back the same way to Featherston and rode out some windy nights parked in the sheltered carpark at the back of the Fell Engine Museum. A good spot too to catch up on Internet stuff as it is adjacent to the free wifi connection from the Public Library there. We also spent a morning in the Fell Museum as neither of us could remember when we had last visited.

Found time on my hands to bake my first cake in our little gas oven and was very pleased with the result. Tasted pretty good too, which is always a bonus!
